My Essential Bridal Kit 2016

Updated: Dec 6, 2020

It always intrigues me what is in other makeup artists kit. When I first started working and advertising as a makeup artist I knew the cost of my kit would be ridiculous, I get asked a lot where do you even start? What is the minimum to get by with when doing working with a large bridal party?

So I have written this post in a hope that it would would help out other aspiring makeup artists and list my go to products (2016) and essentials. I do use a lot of premium products but I do believe you get what you pay for with makeup. Starting with base - for me as a Bridal makeup artist it is ALL about the base.

Primer - So important for a brides makeup to last the day, so many different primers on the market doing so many different jobs but my 2 most used primers by FAR - Illamasqua matte Veil - Laura Mercier radiance primer Colour Correction - - Illamasqua cream pigments in Emerge - MUA Pro Base Prime & Conceal Palette - YSL Colour correcting touché éclat concealers - these are so light! Foundation - This is my BIGGEST expense! - Illamasqua Skin Base 3.5, 6, 8, 10, 12.5, 15 - Armani Luminous silk 2, 5.5, 8, 14 Concealer - Nars - Radiant Concealer in Custard, Chantilly, Amande Powder - Illamasqua 010 Laura Mercier secret brightening powder Highlight & Contour - Becca X Jaclyn Hill -Champagne Pop (a-mazing!) Armani highlighter in 2 Illamasqua sculting duo Nars in Laguna Blush - Bobbi Brown in Nectar Nars in orgasm & Vita Illamasqua cream blush in Dixie EYES - I see so many dodgey eyes, with eyes it all about symmetry! Brows - Gentle bridal brows please! Younique brown liner in medium and dark Benefits gimme brow gel Primer - These stop that creasy crepe'y eye look! Illamasqua in hollow (its FAB) Cream shades - Laura Mercier shimmer creams - Gold and Platinum Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise - Jean Shadows - The biggest tip to cutting costs is palettes! I do tend to use the same palettes a lot, however a lot of brides like to match there shadows to there maids so unusual colours can get thrown out there! Urban Decay - Naked 3 Palette

Too Faced - Sweet Peach
